Saved 100 million VND, fell into love trap via Zalo

The Investigation Police Department of Loc Binh District, Lang Son Province, said that the unit has issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute the accused Duong Thi Tu (born in 1982, residing in Cao Minh Commune, Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province), to investigate the act of fraud and property appropriation.

In early October 2018, through social media, Tu (using the fake name Thuong) met Minh, a man living in Loc Binh district. Although she had been married twice and had three children, Tu told Minh that she was still “single”.

After a period of friendship, Minh developed feelings for Tu. On October 20, 2018, Minh came to see Tu and gave him 1 "tael" of gold, then discussed the wedding. Tu agreed, and asked Minh to buy him a necklace and a bracelet, totaling 7 "taels" of gold, to show his love. Tu even tried to get the remaining 40 million VND from Minh, then disappeared with the 7 "taels" of gold.

After receiving the victim's report, the police conducted an investigation, and on January 24, they clarified and arrested Duong Thi Tu. At the police station, Tu confessed to all her crimes. Accordingly, knowing that Minh had saved 100 million VND to get married, Tu became greedy and pretended to want to get married. Because he trusted Tu so much, Minh bought gold and gave Tu the entire amount of 40 million VND to keep.
