(Baonghean.vn) -Hanh Dich Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) is assigned to manage and protect 20.5 km of the Vietnam - Laos national border and 6 border markers, in charge of 2 border communes, Hanh Dich and Nam Giai (Que Phong district) with 18 villages.

Recently, many people in the area have taken advantage of the difficult economic life of the people and their limited knowledge to lure and deceive some young women to work far away with high income and leisurely jobs, but in reality, to trick them into being sold to China or into prostitution.

Faced with that situation, the Party Committee - Command of Hanh Dich Border Post identified the work of preventing and combating human trafficking as a key, regular and long-term task. The Party Committee and Command of the unit issued a Resolution to lead and develop a plan for implementation; At the same time, thoroughly disseminated the task of combating and preventing human trafficking crimes to each officer and soldier in the unit. The Command of the Station deployed and used forces to strengthen patrols and strictly control people and vehicles entering and exiting the border area; clearly understood the plots, methods and tricks of all types of subjects, proactively proposed effective measures to combat them.

On March 21, 2013, Hanh Dich Border Guard Station received a call for help from citizens residing in Mut village, Hanh Dich commune, Que Phong district, requesting help to rescue two young girls: Ngan Thi L (16 years old) and Ha Thi M (17 years old) who were tricked into working as prostitutes in the coastal area of Dien Chau district. Hanh Dich Border Guard Station reported the incident to Nghe An Border Guard Command and coordinated with the reconnaissance force of Dien Thanh Border Guard Station to urgently search at motels in Dien Chau district. Using professional measures, at 7:30 p.m. on March 22, 2013, Hanh Dich Border Guard Station coordinated with functional units of Nghe An Border Guard Station to identify the two "mountain girls" L. and M. who were staying at Toan Hien restaurant in Hon Cau beach resort (Dien Hai commune, Dien Chau district). Here, the authorities successfully rescued L. and M. from Toan Hien restaurant and returned them to their families.

Recently, implementing the Project coded "321L" of the Nghe An Border Guard Command on combating human trafficking crimes in the area, the Command of Hanh Dich Border Guard Station actively directed the Crime Prevention Team and the Reconnaissance Team to develop and implement professional plans, investigate, collect relevant information; grasp the methods and tricks of the subjects in the human trafficking ring to sell to China. After a period of monitoring the activities of the subjects related to the human trafficking ring, the unit's reconnaissance reported to the Party Committee and the Command of the Station to plan to fight and arrest the subjects.

On September 26, 2013, the local people reported that two subjects had entered the area to contact and entice some "mountain girls" who were in difficult family circumstances. They "painted a vision" that if they went to China to work, they would receive a high salary and an easy job, and if they were lucky enough to marry a rich husband there, they would settle down permanently in the host country. Faced with the subjects' "sweet words", two women in the area agreed to follow them to China to work. To prove that earning money was simple, on the evening of September 27, 2013, the subjects gave the "mountain girls" 11 million VND for their families to pay off the bank debt and then scheduled to leave on the morning of September 28, 2013.

Having grasped the above information, the scouts actively followed and grasped all the movements of the subjects, and at the same time reported the situation to the Station Commander for instructions. Immediately, the Station Commander directed the scouts to coordinate with the Anti-Trafficking Department - Nghe An Border Guard to fight against the subjects. According to the plan on the morning of September 28, 2013, the two human traffickers made an appointment to meet two women from Hanh Dich commune at the Phu Phuong intersection, Que Phong district, then took a bus to the Yen Ly intersection (Dien Chau district) to catch a bus to Mong Cai - Quang Ninh province.

The detectives always followed closely, grasped and monitored all actions of the subjects and especially ensured the secrecy factor. At about 5:30 p.m. the same day, the two subjects and the victims arrived at Yen Ly intersection to catch a bus to Mong Cai - Quang Ninh. Realizing that the opportunity to solve the case had come, the "321L" Task Force directed the detective force to attack the case. At 6:20 p.m. on September 28, 2013, at km 406, National Highway 1A in Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, the Hanh Dich Border Guard Station and the Anti-Crime Department - Nghe An Border Guard coordinated with the Traffic Police and Nghe An Provincial Police to inspect the passenger bus with license plate 14B - 00439 running on the Nghe An - Mong Cai route, and caught the two subjects red-handed while on the road.road to take people to Mong Cai - Quang Ninh to send to China.

Through the investigation, two subjects: Lang Thi Mai (born in 1981, hometown: Mong village, Cam Muon commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province) and Vi Thi Hieu (born in 1981, hometown: Pieng Chao village, Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province - both married in China) confessed to tricking people to go to China to sell for profit. It is worth noting that both subjects above were victims of being tricked and sold to China before and now "intend" to return to their hometown to trick their fellow countrymen to go abroad to sell.

The three rescued victims were: Luong Thi Thu (born in 1986); Luong Thi Than (born in 1992, both residing in Khom village, Hanh Dich commune, Que Phong district) and Lo Van Giao (born in 1986, residing in Cam village, Cam Muon commune, Que Phong district) returned to their families.

Tuyên truyền cho nhân dân cách phòng tránh tội phạm buôn bán người
Educate people on how to prevent human trafficking crimes

Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Hai, Political Commissar of Hanh Dich Border Post, said: In addition to measures to prevent and fight against human traffickers, the unit also actively coordinates with local authorities to organize meetings to educate people not to listen to the sweet enticements of the subjects, and constantly raise vigilance against the plots of human traffickers. In the long term, to end this situation, relevant levels and sectors must make efforts to create conditions for people to have jobs and stable incomes, only then will people feel secure to "settle down", stay attached to the village, and stabilize their lives.
