Actively collect information to detect and handle corruption cases.
(Baonghean) –This morning, July 27, the Provincial Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption (PCTN) conducted a preliminary review of the first 6 months of the year and discussed measures to implement tasks in the last months of 2011. Comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee on PCTN chaired the meeting.
In the first 6 months of the year, along with doing a good job of disseminating and propagating legal regulations on anti-corruption, local authorities have effectively implemented many preventive measures such as saving over 25 billion VND (10% of regular expenditures) according to Resolution 11 of the Government, promoting administrative reform, adding focal units to declare assets and income; conducting 45 socio-economic inspections, including 28 planned inspections and 17 unscheduled inspections, thereby detecting 19 units with economic violations with a total amount of 4.7 billion VND, resolutely recovering 2.95 billion to the budget, handling 1.75 billion and administratively handling 4 individuals; inspecting 86 party members and 25 party organizations, thereby concluding that 50 party members and 15 organizations had violations, and disciplining 11 party members and 3 party organizations.
In the field of anti-corruption, in the first 6 months of the year, the Investigation Agency completed the procedures to transfer 4 cases/6 defendants to the Procuracy to propose prosecution; the Procuracy is handling and investigating 7 cases/11 defendants, of which 4 are old cases/7 defendants, 3 are new cases/4 defendants; the Court tried 7 cases/10 defendants with corruption mainly in the field of land management at the grassroots level. Along with the fight, the Office and members of the Steering Committee also inspected and urged the inspection of the activities of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption of departments, branches and establishments; received 59 petitions and processed 33 petitions according to regulations.
After listening to the members' reports on the implementation of tasks, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee reviewed some major features of the implementation of socio-economic tasks, social security and order, and the work of receiving people to resolve complaints and denunciations, and anti-corruption in the first 6 months of the year; requested to improve the quality of state management of society, land and mineral resources in the new period; at the same time pointed out some advantages and limitations, and shortcomings in the propaganda and anti-corruption work in the past time. He requested the Office of the Steering Committee to focus on doing well the 8 planned inspections; innovate inspection methods to listen and grasp information that people and businesses reflect on the situation of harassment and difficulties; focus on following the grassroots to collect information, handle and urge corruption cases; soon complete the coordination regulations in the fight against corruption in the direction of not doing things for the authorities, not letting the cases drag on causing bad public opinion; Solving cases must be methodical, at the same time doing a good job of ideological work, taking the common interest and maintaining social stability to create conditions for socio-economic development.
