Striker Van Quyet criticized after kicking Dinh Dong
(Baonghean.vn) - The best player of August voted by the V.League Organizing Committee, Nguyen Van Quyet, made the Vietnamese football community angry when watching the replay of his collision with Dinh Dong.
In the 26th minute of the match between SLNA and Hanoi in round 24 of V.League 2019, striker Van Quyet dribbled the ball, defender Dinh Dong leaned in to tackle the ball with both legs to defend, hitting the ball. Immediately, the Hanoi Club striker used his right foot to kick Dinh Dong's knee. Unfortunately for Dinh Dong, this collision forced him to leave the field early.

Immediately after this situation, Damir Memovic - a player from Serbia panicked and hugged the ball and was ready to take a free kick. But surprisingly, the main referee Nguyen Vu, with a favorable viewing angle, still decided to give Hanoi a free kick.
When reviewing another angle, most V.League viewers expressed outrage at the actions of the captain of the Hanoi FC. Many fans also thought that Van Quyet deserved to receive a card for playing maliciously.

According to the assessment of Mr. Doan Phu Tan - FIFA Referee Instructor: "Taking the ball with two feet is not necessarily a foul. And there is no rule that says going straight under the knee is not a foul. Player Dinh Dong blocked the ball with his right foot, his left foot was a bit redundant, giving the opponent an excuse to fall forward even though he was not tripped. Obviously, referee Nguyen Vu was not accurate in this situation.
