Tien Linh scored twice to help Vietnam win 4-0 against Cambodia

After the unfortunate draw against Indonesia, the Vietnamese team entered the match against Cambodia with the determination to win to be able to decide their own ticket to the next round.

In this match, Mr. Park used Tan Truong as the starting goalkeeper, replacing Nguyen Manh who played in all three previous matches. In the attack, Tien Linh was on the field from the start, the trio of Van Duc, Tien Linh, and Cong Phuong were the highest strikers of the Vietnamese team.

As expected, as soon as the whistle blew, the red team pressed the opponent's field. And it only took Tien Linh 3 minutes to open the score for the Vietnamese team. The goal came from a delicate pass from Quang Hai, putting Tien Linh face to face with the opponent's goalkeeper. And the striker's cold low shot did not give Hul Kimhuy a chance to block. The goal somewhat relieved Tien Linh's mentality after scoreless matches at this year's AFF Cup.

Despite taking the lead, Mr. Park's players still played high pressing. Our strikers fought fiercely for the ball right in the Cambodian half. Mr. Honda's team could not organize clear attacks on the Vietnamese half.

Opportunities were continuously created by Tien Linh, Hong Duy and Cong Phuong. With his forte being the ability to hold the ball and break through, the striker playing for HAGL often makes the opponent's defense confused.

Playing with a completely relaxed mentality after taking the lead, the Vietnamese team attacked extremely impressively. Tien Linh did not disappoint Mr. Park's trust when he continued to score, raising the score to 2-0 for the red team. The goal came from Tien Linh's powerful shot from outside the penalty area, the shot was so strong and dangerous that it defeated goalkeeper Hul Kimhuy.

With a 2-goal lead, the Vietnamese team no longer pushed the pace as high as at the beginning of the match. The red team let Cambodia hold the ball more, but this way of playing was within Mr. Park's calculations.

Entering the second half, when hearing the news that Indonesia was leading Malaysia, so to be able to top the table, the Vietnamese team had to score another goal against Cambodia. Therefore, the red team focused all their efforts on attacking, many opportunities were created by the Vietnamese strikers. Coach Park's students attacked from many sides and what the fans were waiting for was rewarded when the Vietnamese team scored 2 consecutive goals. The goals were scored by Tien Dung and Quang Hai in the 56th and 57th minutes of the match. With a score of 4-0 when the second half had only lasted less than 1/3 of the time, it affirmed the superiority of the yellow star warriors.

When leading 4-0, the Vietnamese team proactively gave the game to their opponents and did not let any unfortunate injuries happen.

In the final minutes, the ball possession time was in Cambodia's favor, but no more goals were scored. At the end of the match, Coach Park Hang-seo and his team won with a score of 4-0. With this result, the Vietnamese team got 10 points, but still ranked 2nd in Group B due to losing to Indonesia on goal difference.
