(Baonghean.vn) - When he was a young midfielder for SLNA, Ngo Hoang Thinh was often called up to the national team by coaches. However, before every important campaign, this player missed the appointment for very unfortunate reasons.

Remember when V.League 2013 entered phase 2, Hoang Thinh had to go for treatment for a right knee injury and only in the final rounds was coach Nguyen Huu Thang able to use this central midfielder.

However, those were the matches in which Hoang Thinh always appeared with a bandaged knee. Although coach Hoang Van Phuc called him up to the Vietnam U23 team to prepare for the 27th SEA Games, this player still could not reach his best form and fitness.

That was the time when Hoang Thinh suffered a complex knee ligament injury. Therefore, during the training trip in Europe, Hoang Thinh was forced to become an involuntary spectator of U23 Vietnam and missed the 2013 SEA Games.

At that time, Hoang Thinh was one of the most experienced players in the U23 Vietnam team. The midfielder, born in 1992, was among the few players who had been in the SEA Games 26 squad in Indonesia.

In May 2015, in a friendly match with U23 Korea, during a harmless tackle, Hoang Thinh was unfortunately injured. Unable to continue playing, he was immediately taken to the hospital for first aid.

He was diagnosed with a broken rib by doctors. With his serious injury, Hoang Thinh had to say goodbye to U23 Vietnam and miss the 28th SEA Games.

At the AFF Cup 2016, during the training session at Thong Nhat Stadium to prepare for the first leg of the semi-final against Indonesia, Hoang Thinh suffered a relapse of his injury and had to sit out. After that, coach Huu Thang was forced to use Van Thang in the central midfield position to replace Hoang Thinh.

Recently, midfielder Ngo Hoang Thinh suffered from eye pain (keratitis) before being named in the Vietnam national team’s training list by coach Park Hang-seo. This forced the midfielder from Nghe An to arrive in Hanoi on September 25 to join his teammates.

After talking with Coach Park and the doctors, Hoang Thinh was sent back to Ho Chi Minh City Club. The reason is because the high intensity training process can make Hoang Thinh sweat a lot, making the injury worse.

Accordingly, Hoang Thinh will need about 4-5 more days to fully recover. By then, the chance for this midfielder to catch up with the training plan and participate in the two matches against Malaysia and Indonesia is almost gone.

However, Hoang Thinh's chances are still wide open this year because he only has an eye problem, not a serious injury. The Vietnam national team will regroup for the matches on November 14 and 19 against the UAE and Thailand./.
