Receiving aircraft and establishing EC-225 fleet
On December 25, at Vung Tau airport (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), the Navy held a ceremony to receive aircraft and announced the decision to establish the EC-225 squadron under the Navy.

The EC-225 squadron receives and manages two EC-225 aircraft. This is a French-made aircraft with the most modern long-range sea-flight capability in the world, suitable for search and rescue.
Admiral Nguyen Van Hien said that being equipped with the modern EC-225 aircraft is an honor and pride as well as a heavy responsibility for the Vietnamese Navy in general and each officer and soldier of the Air Force - Navy in particular in managing and protecting sovereignty over the seas, islands, continental shelves and exclusive economic zones of the Fatherland. Immediately after the ceremony, Admiral Nguyen Van Hien and representatives of the leaders of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and related units had a test flight on 2 EC-225 aircraft.
