This morning (November 22), the 3rd Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2012-2017 term took place in Vinh City. Attending the congress were Ms. Nguyen Giang Tue Minh - Vice President of Vietnam Trade Union; representatives of a number of provincial departments and agencies. Nearly 120 delegates representing more than 3,300 civil servants, public employees and workers in the province attended the congress.

Attending the congress were Ms. Nguyen Giang Tue Minh - Vice President of Vietnam Trade Union; representatives of a number of provincial departments and agencies. Nearly 120 delegates representing more than 3,300 civil servants, public employees and workers in the province attended the congress.
The report of the 2nd term of the Trade Union Executive Committee shows that: Currently, the Provincial Trade Union is directly managing 43 establishments, an increase of 4 establishments, with a total of 3,304 officials, civil servants, and employees. The majority of the staff and union members are leaders, managers, and specialists who carry out research, consulting, and direction work for state agencies, and socio-political organizations at the provincial and central levels located in the area. During the past term, the Nghe An Trade Union has closely followed the resolutions of the trade union congresses at all levels, the direction of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Vietnam Trade Union, and concretized them with many specific action programs. Trade union activities at all levels have been innovative in choosing content and organization forms, creating highlights to attract officials and union members to participate. The targets of the 2nd term of the Trade Union Congress have been basically achieved.

In particular, the most prominent activities are propaganda and education, organizing patriotic emulation movements, implementing grassroots democracy regulations, administrative reform, caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of civil servants, public employees and workers. In the movement of creative labor emulation, promoting initiatives and technical improvements, 584 topics have been implemented. In the work of mobilizing female cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, 1,422 women have received training in the Labor Law, nearly 1,400 women have received training in the topics of Marriage and Family, Gender Equality Law, Social Insurance Law, etc. In addition, all levels of the provincial trade union have carried out social and charitable activities well, contributing to gratitude funds, funds for the poor, and trade union social funds with hundreds of millions of VND.
At the congress, many delegates gave their opinions and contributions to further clarify the results achieved, while pointing out the difficulties and shortcomings in the implementation process. The delegates also made recommendations and proposed to their superiors solutions to promote the movement of civil servants, public employees, and workers and build a strong trade union organization.
To continue affirming the position and role of the trade union organization, this provincial trade union congress continues to carry out the goal in the next term: taking care of building a team of "loyal, creative, dedicated, exemplary" civil servants and public employees; Promoting revolutionary action movements; Taking care of the lives, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of civil servants, public employees, and workers; Improving the qualifications of the trade union team in all aspects, innovating the methods of operation, and building an increasingly strong trade union organization.
The Congress elected 19 comrades to the Executive Committee of the 3rd term of the Trade Union for the 2012-2017 term and 8 comrades to attend the higher-level trade union congress. Comrade Che Ngoc Binh continued to be elected by the Congress to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial Trade Union for the 3rd term; the Congress also elected 2 Vice Chairmen of the Provincial Trade Union for the 2012-2017 term.
