The General Department of Tourism has just sent an official dispatch to the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities across the country requesting to continue implementing the tourism stimulus program until the end of 2014.

According to document No. 196/TCDL dated March 11, 2014 sent to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities, the General Department of Tourism stated that the 2013 tourism stimulus program has contributed significantly to promoting the growth of international and domestic tourists in 2013. Many localities have actively implemented the program and brought about efficiency, contributing to promoting local tourism development, while helping many businesses overcome difficulties and challenges caused by the impact of the economic recession.

In addition, notify tourism, trade and service businesses (travel agencies, hotels, tourist attractions, transportation...) in the area, and guide businesses and units to continue registering to participate in the program and compile the registration list to send to the General Department before April 30, 2014.

The document also requested the Departments to notify local businesses to participate and offer products at the 2nd Vietnam International Tourism Fair (VITM) (taking place from April 3-6, 2014) to exchange and introduce promotional products to stimulate domestic tourism./.
