The report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in August shows that: In August, the Provincial People's Committee continued to direct the implementation of solutions to manage socio-economic development, control inflation, and ensure social security. The whole province has planted nearly 95,800 hectares of summer-autumn rice, including more than 54,000 hectares of summer-autumn rice; newly planted concentrated forests on 710 hectares, and exploited wood output reached 11,322 m3. In August, the industrial production index increased by 28.5% over the same period. Some main products had a good increase such as frozen seafood, beer, processed milk, animal feed, granite bricks and electricity production. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated at 2,826.7 billion VND. Export turnover of goods is estimated at 13.89 million USD, up 21.26% over the same period, import turnover is 10 million USD. The consumer price index (CPI) in August is still on an upward trend but the rate has slowed down compared to previous months. Tourism service revenue is estimated at 220 billion VND. Total capital mobilization in the province reached 33,200 billion VND, total outstanding debt reached 57,500 billion VND, up 20% compared to the beginning of the year. Total mobilized capital in 8 months is estimated at 16 trillion VND, up 17.8% over the same period. In August, the Provincial People's Committee granted investment certificates to 4 newly registered projects with registered capital of more than 15,449 billion VND, preparing to receive ODA capital for the Vinh urban development project with a capital of 125 million USD. Total budget revenue in the area in 8 months is estimated at 4,942.8 billion VND.
However, in August, there were still some limitations and shortcomings that needed to be resolved, such as inflation, natural disasters, and epidemics that greatly affected production and life. The implementation of the summer-autumn crop was lower than the same period last year and did not meet the set plan; diseases on livestock and poultry still occurred; the progress of basic construction and disbursement of basic construction was still slow. In particular, some key tasks were slow to be implemented, such as building new rural areas and rectifying mineral exploitation activities, which were not timely and effective.
