(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism solemnly held the 70th Anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2015).
Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with representatives of provincial Departments and Branches, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism through the periods, representatives of grassroots cultural units in the province.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the past 70 years of the Vietnam Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, accompanying and closely linked with the history of the revolution and the nation. 70 years since Uncle Ho signed the Decree to establish the Information and Propaganda Department, the predecessor of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism today, a long journey with many important milestones; with countless contributions and sacrifices of generations of cultural workers, to fully carry out the mission of "Culture lights the way for the nation" as taught by President Ho Chi Minh.

During the 70 years of construction and development, Nghe An's cultural sector has also made great contributions; effectively serving the resistance war and national construction, encouraging the spirit of struggle and production - being the main force bringing culture to all people. From 1991 to 2005, Nghe An's cultural and information sector developed strongly in the cause of innovation, creating many marks in the 70-year history of the sector's development. In particular, the most prominent is the movement to build cultural families and cultural units; promoting the value of historical and cultural relics associated with the development of traditional festivals, which has made festivals in Nghe An both effective in educating traditions and creating a healthy form of cultural activities for the people. The most prominent mark of this period is the enhancement of cultural and artistic activities, typically the elevation of the Sen Village Singing Festival to the Sen Village Festival held annually and every five years on a national scale.

From 2005 to now, the Nghe An Culture, Sports and Tourism sector has entered a period of innovation, integration and development. In particular, 2014 is the year marking a major cultural event of international significance in Nghe An when the Vi Dam Folk Song Heritage was recognized as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
