Continue to pay more attention to collective economy and cooperatives in Nghe An
Speaking at the conference to review the activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province requested departments, branches and localities to pay more attention to the development of collective economy, cooperatives and craft villages.

Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development attended and delivered a speech at the conference. Also attending were Comrade Phan Van Hoan - Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.
61.4% of cooperatives operate effectively
After 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee on Continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the collective economy in the new period and the revised Law on Cooperatives in 2023, awareness of the viewpoints, nature, position and role of the collective economic sector and cooperatives has become increasingly clearer and more consistent among Party committees, authorities at all levels and people of all walks of life.

State management of the collective economy has been gradually innovated, and the state management apparatus for the collective economy and cooperatives has been gradually improved and made more professional.
In 2024, develop 30 more Cooperatives, bringing the total number of cooperatives operating in the province to 888/925 cooperatives. Of which, 545 cooperatives operate effectively (accounting for 61.4% of the total number of cooperatives operating).

Up to now, out of a total of 567 OCOP standard products of 3 stars or higher, there are 269 products of 166 cooperatives and cooperative groups (accounting for 47.4%); the whole province has 79 products of 77 units recognized as typical rural industrial products, of which the collective economic sector and cooperatives have 22 products of 20 cooperatives.
In 2025, the Provincial Cooperative Union identified a number of key tasks: Focus on doing a good job of advising on the implementation of tasks related to the development of collective economy and cooperatives; Do a good job of consulting, supporting, guiding the development, improving the quality of cooperative activities; build production and business linkage models according to the value chain and carry out digital transformation. The conference had 7 presentations from cooperatives and localities, aiming to share experiences for effective cooperative operations, at the same time express difficulties, challenges and propose some recommendations to all levels and sectors with the desire to create more favorable conditions for collective economy and cooperatives in their activities.
Pay more attention to collective economy and cooperatives
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De commended the achievements of the cooperative economy, cooperatives and the activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union in 2024.

However, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also realized that the development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives has not been commensurate with its potential and advantages; the growth rate is still low compared to other economic sectors, development is uneven between regions, between agricultural and non-agricultural sectors; the connection and cooperation with each other and with other economic types are still weak; the state management of the collective economic sector and cooperatives still has many shortcomings. Some Party committees and authorities have not really paid attention to the activities of cooperatives...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that 2025 is the year of the Party Congress at all levels and also the year of the Congress of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system, therefore, he suggested that the Provincial Cooperative Alliance continue to improve the effectiveness of coordination with departments, branches and localities in developing cooperative economy and cooperatives; especially in coordinating the development and advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue projects, programs and plans related to collective economic activities and cooperatives.

Strengthen training and capacity building for cooperative staff, in conjunction with continuing to thoroughly grasp and guide the implementation of the Law on Cooperatives and documents implementing the Law on Cooperatives 2023. Organize well consulting activities, support the construction of cooperative models linking production and business along the value chain; strengthen support for trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand; promote support for digital transformation in the cooperative system.

For cooperatives, they must strive to improve themselves, promote the position and role of the Management Board, especially the head of the cooperative. Implement innovation, creativity and invest in technology in production, find output markets for products...
Provincial leaders also requested departments, branches and localities to pay more attention to the development of collective economy, cooperatives and craft villages, and to allocate resources to support the consolidation and improvement of the efficiency of production and business activities of cooperatives.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements in organizing and implementing the project to continue innovating and developing cooperatives in 2024./.
