Killed 27 IS militants
On May 7, 27 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed and 13 others were injured in airstrikes by Afghan security forces targeting IS hideouts in the eastern province of Nangarhar.

Speaking to reporters, a local government spokesman said Afghan security forces conducted two airstrikes in Mohmandara and Kandarpisha areas of Achin district, which are believed to be IS strongholds.
According to the official, Afghan government forces will continue to attack IS in many other areas of the country.
IS has not yet responded to the above information.
Parts of Nangarhar province, with its capital Jalalabad 120km east of the Afghan capital Kabul, have been a hotbed of IS activity for more than two years.
