The Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police has deployed forces to inspect many establishments producing and trading various types of food in Nghe An.

This is the amount of raw materials discovered and confiscated by the Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police from Mr. Tran Thanh Giang, born in 1973, residing in Cong Hoa block, Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city, including 36 bags of lotus root weighing 784.5 kg; 70 kg of borax powder that did not meet food hygiene and safety requirements and 20 boxes of expired curry spice powder. Mr. Tran Thanh Giang also did not have a certificate of food safety eligibility; there were no procedures or documents proving the origin of the above items. The authorities have drawn up a record of the seizure of the above food. According to the provisions of the Law on Food Safety, the authorities have destroyed the above food.

In the coming time, the Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Province Police will continue to strengthen inspection and supervision of business activities as well as production facilities to contribute to ensuring food hygiene and safety for consumers during the 2014 Mid-Autumn Festival.
