Looking for 2 subjects in the case of transferring 10 billion VND worth of iPhones from abroad to Vietnam
These two subjects were identified as participating, along with defendant Ngo Thach Hao, in transporting hundreds of iPhones from abroad to Vietnam by air.
On May 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department issued a notice to search for two suspects: Tran Duy Linh (28 years old, residing in District 3) and Hoang Tuan Viet (40 years old, residing in Go Vap District) because they are believed to be involved in the case of "Illegal transportation of goods across borders" occurred at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Tan Binh District.
Previously, in mid-October 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency prosecuted and executed an order to temporarily detain Ngo Thach Hao (34 years old, from Long An) for the above crime.

The incident occurred on October 5, 2022, when the Tan Son Nhat Airport Border Police Station on duty discovered that Ngo Thach Hao had just entered Vietnam from a flight from Singapore and was suspicious, so they proceeded to check. The police discovered and seized 246 iPhone mobile phones contained in Hao's suitcase and handbag.
When detained for investigation, Hao confessed that he had received payment for transporting a shipment of iPhones for another person to Vietnam. Hao also admitted that in the previous month, he had gone to Singapore 12 times to transport the goods.
Receiving the case, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency prosecuted Hao for the crime of "Illegal transportation of goods across the border".
When expanding the investigation, the police identified two subjects, Tran Duy Linh and Hoang Tuan Viet, as being involved.

The police investigation agency coordinated with relevant agencies to extract security camera images at the airport.
The police discovered that Linh and Viet entered Vietnam with Hao from Singapore on October 5. They had hidden two suitcases and two backpacks in the airport's lost-and-found luggage storage. When the suitcases and backpacks were inspected, the police discovered 463 iPhones of various types inside.
The total amount of evidence seized in the case was more than 700 iPhone mobile phones, valued at over 10 billion VND after appraisal.
During the investigation, the Police Investigation Agency invited Linh and Viet to work, but these two subjects were not present in the locality, and their whereabouts were unknown. Therefore, recently, the Police Investigation Agency issued a notice to search for the two subjects to handle according to the law.
