Mr. Nguyen Duy Lien - Executive Board of Domestic Water in Van Long hamlet, Giai Xuan commune said after checking the situation with other members: "The reason is due to the dry weather, little rain, so Lan lake is dry, while the demand for use has increased, leading to a water shortage, not because the pipeline system is damaged".

Mo Lan is located on a hill, 300m above the residential area of Giai Xuan commune. The domestic water supply project was installed in 1990, and was upgraded in 2008 under Program 134. The project supplies water to the people of the hamlets: Long Tho, Ke Mui and Van Long with a total of 350 households. The underground water pipeline system with a total length of 8,971m is still safe. Up to now, many households have been self-sufficient in water by drilling and digging wells. However, there are still nearly 100 households in Van Long hamlet using water from the self-flowing water supply system of Mo Lan. The reason is that this area has a lot of limestone, so households drill wells but have no water.
Find a solution
Mr. Vu Ngoc Son - Chairman of Giai Xuan Commune People's Committee said that the commune has directed the Van Long Hamlet Water Management Board to provide water in rotation, rotating 30 households/time. "We also encourage people to find locations with underground water to install drills and pumps to ensure a long-term source of domestic water."

To proactively source water for daily life, people built water tanks, both storing water from the spring and taking advantage of rainwater. Working groups of the People's Committee of the district and Giai Xuan commune visited households to inspect, propagate, and mobilize households in Van Long hamlet to survey the terrain so that they could drill wells, build water tanks, and use water economically.
