Learn about priority policies for subjects
(Baonghean) -Ask:I would like to know some amendments in the 2014 admission regulations, especially in the priority policy for the subjects?
Reply:According to Circular No. 06/2014/TT - BGDĐT on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the university and college admission regulations in the 2013 - 2014 university entrance exam, the Ministry allows full-time universities and colleges to organize one to two admissions in a year with methods such as entrance exams, admission selection or a combination of entrance exams and admission selection. In addition, candidates taking the university entrance exam according to the general exam of the Ministry of Education and Training, if not admitted according to their wishes stated in the application form, can use the university entrance exam result certificate of that year to apply for admission to schools with remaining admission quotas and appropriate entrance requirements.
Also in the revised admission regulations of 2014, a series of priority subjects were added in a direction that benefits candidates, including:
Ethnic minorities with permanent residence in extremely disadvantaged villages, communes in regions I, II, III in ethnic and mountainous areas in the period 2012-2015 in the list of extremely disadvantaged communes, coastal and island areas in the period 2013-2015.
Military personnel and people's police who have been discharged from the army and are recognized as having completed their military service obligations according to regulations. Children of people with meritorious services to the revolution such as: Children of resistance fighters who were exposed to toxic chemicals with a labor capacity reduction rate of 81% or more; children of war invalids, sick soldiers, and children of people who enjoy the same policies as war invalids with labor capacity loss of less than 81%.
Children of revolutionaries and resistance fighters who were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy; children of resistance fighters who liberated the nation, defended the Fatherland, and performed international duties; and children of people who helped the revolution. Biological children of resistance fighters who are deformed or disabled due to the effects of toxic chemicals and are receiving monthly allowances.
Commanders and Deputy Commanders of the Military Command of communes, wards and towns; village team leaders, platoon leaders of core militia and self-defense forces, and militia and self-defense forces who have completed their service in the core militia and self-defense forces for 12 months or more.
Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam; candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, and have graduated from high school, will be directly admitted to university in the same or similar major as the subject in which the candidate won the prize.
Candidates who win the Encouragement Prize in the National Excellent Student Competition; Candidates who win the Encouragement Prize in the Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, who have graduated from high school, will be directly admitted to college in the same major or a related major of the subject in which the candidate won the prize.
Candidates who win prizes in national excellent student exams or science and technology competitions but have not graduated from high school will have their degrees reserved after graduating from high school.
