(Baonghean.vn) - The storm is forecast to cause heavy rain. From the night of July 17 to July 20, Nghe An will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-200mm.

According to the latest information from the North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station, at 4:00 p.m. on July 16, the center of the storm was located at about 19.3 degrees North latitude; 115.0 degrees East longitude, about 510 km East Southeast of Leizhou Peninsula (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10-11 (89-117 km/h), gusting to level 14.

* Strong winds

At sea:

- The northern sea area of ​​the North East Sea has strong winds of level 7-8, near the storm center, level 9-10, then increasing to level 11-12, gusting to level 15. The sea is very rough.

- From the afternoon and evening of July 17, the northern Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vy and Co To island districts) will gradually increase in wind to level 6-7, then increase to level 8-9, near the storm center level 10-11, gusting to level 13-14.

On land:

- From early morning on July 18, coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Nam Dinh will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, then increasing to level 8, areas near the storm center will have winds of level 9-10, gusting to level 12-13; areas deep inland in the Northeast will have strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9.

* Storm surge, big waves

- The sea area north of the North East Sea has waves 5.0-7.0m high.

- The Northern Gulf of Tonkin has waves 3.0-5.0m high. The coastal areas of Quang Ninh-Nam Dinh provinces have waves 2.0-4.0m high.

- The coastal areas of Quang Ninh-Thai Binh provinces have storm surges of 0.5-0.8m. There is a risk of flooding in low-lying coastal areas, river mouths, and coastal erosion in case the storm makes landfall during high tide (evening of July 18).

Heavy rain:From the night of July 17 to July 20, in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places with common rainfall of 100-200mm, and in Thanh Hoa, some places will have over 300mm. Ha Tinh will have rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain in some places and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 50-100mm, and in some places over 150mm.

Beware of the risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes, and lightning at the far edge of the storm's circulation.
