The “overseas” trip of provincial leaders and representatives of departments and branches in Australia (Australia) with many programs promoting potential and investment opportunities with partners, demonstrates the determination to implement the policy of Nghe An province in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. The goodwill from the “friends” brings new expectations.

The week-long working trip (from July 8-15) of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa to Australia with a busy working schedule with partners and businesses has initiated new corridors in bilateral cooperation. Participating in these activities, there was active support from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sydney; representatives of the Australian Chamber of Commerce (AusCham) and businesses in the province such as: VSIP, Hermaraj, Cienco 4, Thien Phu Joint Stock Company, Central Region General Construction Investment Joint Stock Company.

In all the talks, seminars, working sessions and meetings, the development steps and potentials of Nghe An were clearly introduced with comparisons with the provinces and cities of Vietnam's neighboring countries.

Attending most of the activities of the Nghe An delegation in Australia, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Thuy - Deputy Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney and Mr. Tran Ba ​​Phuc - Chairman of the Vietnam Business Association in Australia expressed their joy at the strong development steps of Nghe An with investment and trade cooperation policies with economies, including Australia; at the same time, committed to participating with the highest responsibility to support Nghe An in investment cooperation and trade exchange with the Australian government and businesses.

During the working process, Mr. Tim Caroll - Representative of the Australian Trade Agency was very impressed with the development of Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular, especially emphasizing the advantages of political and economic stability as an attractive point for foreign investors. Australian enterprises in the fields of pharmaceuticals, health, finance, trade and industry also had exchanges and formed initial cooperation ideas.

Mr. Daniel Bisignano - Investment Manager, Victoria State Government, where the Nghe An delegation organized the "Investment Promotion Seminar in Melbourne", shared: "The attractive information and strong commitments from the Nghe An government have brought positive signals. I believe that the two sides will increase investment, business, cooperation and development in the future".

Mr. Daniel Bisignano also introduced the socio-economic development situation of Victoria State with advantages in education and training, healthcare, tourism, sports, especially the strength in trade and investment of large companies and transnational corporations based in Melbourne. Based on the two-way information, Mr. Daniel Bisignano suggested continuing to have exchanges and research to have appropriate, certain and effective steps.

On the sidelines of the seminar on investment opportunities in Nghe An in South Australia, Mr. Mike Guerin - Director of Investment Development, Director of Education Development of South Australia had a private meeting with the provincial delegation on the possibility of establishing a cooperative relationship between South Australia and Nghe An province. During the meeting, Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa expressed his desire to establish a friendly and cooperative relationship with South Australia, especially in cooperation issues that are strengths of both sides such as: Agriculture, education and training, healthcare, human resources, etc.

The representative of the South Australian Government expressed his desire to sign a “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation” with Nghe An Province. This is an important legal corridor for cooperation in the fields of education and training, vocational training, agriculture, and trade between Nghe An Province and South Australia. During the dialogue session with businesses in South Australia, many questions from Australian businesses related to investment procedures, investment environment, and specific cooperation in education and training, and healthcare in Nghe An were satisfactorily answered by the delegation, representatives of the Investment Promotion and Support Center, and provincial departments and branches.

Also in South Australia, representatives of the development department of the University of Adelaide and the School of Advanced Vocational and Technical Education TafeSA had a private meeting with the Nghe An delegation about future cooperation in education and training according to the model of combining the state, businesses, students and schools to train high-quality human resources for Nghe An province.

The initiative and organization of activities to promote potential and investment cooperation by Nghe An provincial authorities and AusCham have provided important information for businesses in Australia to study.

In fact, in Nghe An, there have been Australian enterprises investing and operating, typically the AustFeed animal feed factory in Nam Cam Industrial Park with modern technology and long-term dedication, expanding the field of livestock breeding production and animal genetics center, which is very suitable for the strategy of developing high-tech agriculture and livestock in Nghe An.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Director of the Provincial Investment Promotion and Support Center, a member of the Nghe An province delegation in Australia, added: Through contact, a number of Australian enterprises expressed their desire to come and learn about the investment environment in Nghe An in the coming time, such as 4WaysFresh Company, Newplex, TafeSA School, Adelaide University, a number of pharmaceutical enterprises,...
