Coach Mai Duc Chung: 'Vietnam women's team will fight with all their might against Australia'
Before the semi-final match of the 2025 AFF Women's Championship, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the whole team will fight with all their might to aim for victory against Australia.
On the afternoon of August 15, a press conference was held before the semi-final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship. Here, coach Mai Duc Chung and captain Huynh Nhu shared about the preparations of the Vietnamese women's team before the match against the Australian women's team at Lach Tray Stadium at 8:00 p.m. on August 16.
Opening the press conference, coach Mai Duc Chung said: “The Vietnamese women’s team is excited to prepare for the match. The two teams are evenly matched. Australia is very young and has prepared well for the national team. We hope to play well in the upcoming match. Hopefully fans will come to the stadium to support the Vietnamese women’s team.”

"For us, this is a blessing because we get to play at home. Having everyone support us is the belief of our team in every match we play in our country," the head coach of the Vietnam team also emphasized the home field advantage.
Compared to Australia, the Vietnamese women's team has an advantage as they have one more day off and continue to compete on the familiar Lach Tray field. From the semi-finals, VAR technology will also be applied. This is also an advantage for coach Mai Duc Chung and his team as they have many experienced players who are familiar with this technology.

"It is clear that the Vietnamese women's team has an advantage over their opponents because they have one more day off and the other team also has to travel from Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to Hai Phong. However, that is only in theory. In reality, the Australian team consists of very young and strong players, and they are catching up very quickly with this year's tournament."
Finally, Mai Duc Chung expressed his determination: "Tomorrow, with the advantage of 1 more day off, we have prepared well. We will fight for every match, with high determination no matter who the opponent is. Play our best."

Also at the press conference, captain Huynh Nhu shared: "This is not the first time we have played at home. We have played at Thong Nhat 2014 or the SEA Games in Quang Ninh, that is the motivation for the Vietnamese women's team to strive, hopefully in the upcoming match there will be more spectators, bringing a more wonderful atmosphere."
“We are in the semi-finals so I feel very relaxed and confident. There are familiar fans in the stands, that is a great source of motivation. As for whether I score or not, I will try my best to bring the best results for the Vietnamese women's team," Huynh Nhu affirmed./.
