Right from the first minutes of the first half, the match was exciting with an open and attractive game. Both teams played tight defense, while creating sharp attacks. The goal helped the girls in red play confidently and dominate the game, making it difficult for Thailand to organize counterattacks. The first half ended with the advantage leaning towards coach Mai Duc Chung and his team.

In the second half, the Thai girls pushed up their formation, increasing the pressure in search of an equalizer. However, the Vietnamese women's team's defense played solidly, locking down all the opponents' spearheads.

In the 78th minute, Tran Thi Duyen accurately crossed the ball into the penalty area for striker Hai Yen, who had just entered the field, to perform an impromptu volley. Although the move was a rare “upside-down bicycle kick” in women’s football, unfortunately the ball went a bit too high over the goal, missing the opportunity to create a masterpiece.

In the final minutes of the match, the Vietnamese women's team proactively slowed down the pace, focused on defending firmly on their home field and organized quick counterattacks whenever there was an opportunity.

In the end, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team won all 3 points and officially entered the semi-finals as the top team in Group A. The opponent of the Vietnamese women's team, the second team in Group B, will be determined tonight (August 13). This victory helps the girls get closer to their goal of winning the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship./.
