(Baonghean) -The project to improve the rural power grid was invested in 4 provinces, including Nghe An, with capital from the German Reconstruction Bank (KFW) and invested by EVN. This project contributed to overcoming the overload situation and reducing power loss in some rural areas of our province.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Loi - Deputy Director of Nghe An Electricity Company said: The current situation of the rural power grid in many communes in our province is unsafe because the power grid is too old and dilapidated (small wires, low quality wires, many broken connections, poor quality poles, still many wooden poles, bamboo poles, inaccurate power metering system ...). The average voltage loss is about 28%, in some places the voltage loss is up to 31%. The current value of the rural power grid is still low, most of which do not meet the economic and technical requirements in business and management of the industry. Therefore, the Project to improve the rural power grid using loans from the German Reconstruction Bank (KFW) (loan within 13 years) aims to improve the rural power grid. meet the demand for load development and ensure power quality, overcome overload, reduce power loss, and lower the cost of rural electricity.

The specific tasks are to invest in renewing the medium voltage line of 104.6 km, building 187 transformer stations with a total capacity of 30,100 KVA. Investing in low voltage lines of 2,878.91 km, of which the new line is 185.60 km, the renovated line is 2,693.31 km. The area is large but the company has mobilized a force of over 100 construction workers. Up to this point, the progress has been exceeded, nearly 80% of the work has been completed. The foundation pits have been basically dug, 110 high-voltage power poles have been buried, the construction of 12 transformer stations has been completed and 41 km of low-voltage power lines have been pulled. Ms. Luong Thi Nhan, 60 years old, in Hamlet 14, Dien Phu Commune, confided: “For a long time, the electricity grid here has been very weak, directly affecting people's lives, for example, rice cooked in a rice cooker is not cooked, TV is available one day and not available the next, during the dry season, Dien Phu people have a large area of peanuts but cannot pump water for irrigation, many peanut areas are drought-damaged and burned... Now the project to improve the electricity grid will change the lives of people here.”

Currently, contractors are waiting for the Northern Electricity Corporation to supply materials and equipment for assembly for items such as transformer stations and new power lines.

Nghe An Power Company strictly controls the construction progress, develops plans to arrange supervisory personnel for each package, regularly organizes meetings to review progress and promptly resolve any problems arising during the project implementation.
