In particular, the top secret information that this hacker group is holding is the location of Moscow's 4th generation nuclear submarines.

RT reported that a group of hackers sent an open letter to the head of the Military Counterintelligence Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) and announced that the group had stolen a lot of information and data from the Russian Ministry of Defense.

This information is currently being sold by a group of hackers. This information is considered to be classified information of the country.

According to the hackers, Russian Defense Ministry officials exchanged emails about sensitive topics such as Russia's defense capabilities on the free email services Yandex, Mail.ru and Gmail. These emails lasted from mid-2011 to 2015. The Shaltay Boltay hackers claimed that they had successfully accessed the emails and mobile devices of Ksenia Bolshakova, an assistant to Roman Filimonov, former head of the construction department at the Russian Defense Ministry.

In the letter, the hacker group wrote that officials used insecure mailing services to transmit important reports and information during meetings with the Secretary of Defense.

The Shaltay Boltay group added that it has information on the units responsible for managing Russia's Iskander medium-range ballistic missile system.

Particularly top secret information that this group is holding is the location of Moscow's 4th generation nuclear submarines.

The Shaltay Boltay hacker group noted that if the group had stolen such secret information, it is also very possible that foreign intelligence agencies would have also learned of this information due to the carelessness of Russian Defense Ministry employees.

The hacker group offered to resell the stolen data to the FSB Military Counterintelligence Department at a "friendly" price, half the price it would sell to other customers.

Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov has criticized the negligence of Defense Ministry staff in ensuring the country's secret security information.

Mr. Peskov said that using free email services to exchange confidential information is crazy and unacceptable.

Mr. Peskov emphasized that Moscow will check the authenticity of what the hacker group claims.

If the information revealed by the hacker group is true, the Russian Ministry of Defense is facing a hacking scandal that is said to be unprecedented for this defense and security agency./.
