More news about the tragic accident on Highway 48C that killed 10 people and injured 5 others

(Baonghean) -At 3:50 am this morning (November 7) at Km 62 + 400 National Highway 48C, passing through Binh Chuan commune (Con Cuong - Nghe An), a very serious traffic accident occurred.
Car with license plate 37V-3851 carrying wood from Xieng Mi commune (Tuong Duong district) on the way down National Highway 48C had an accident, killing 7 people on the spot, 3 people died on the way to the emergency room, and the remaining 5 people were all seriously injured and are currently in critical condition.
According to our observations at the scene, the car crashed due to brake failure on the Pu Huot downhill road, the car flipped over in the middle of the road and drifted due to inertia at high speed, leaving the people in the car unable to react. Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Chuan Commune - Con Cuong District - who was present to direct the rescue when the accident just happened, said that all the victims were crushed by wood, the rescue team had a hard time removing the bodies of the victims and the injured from the pile of wood, many of the victims' limbs had been severed from the body.
The 15 victims of this accident were all from Chau Ly commune (Quy Hop). Apart from the driver, the rest were all hired laborers to carry wood. Their families were all in extremely difficult circumstances. More painfully, the victims of this accident were all cousins, in 4 cases they were brothers. Two brothers, Lo Van Thong and Lo Van Minh, died at the scene. Two brothers, Vi Van La and Vi Van Hieu; Vi Van Viet and Vi Van Tieu, all died one at the scene and one on the way to the emergency room. Two brothers, Vi Van Dung and Vi Van Duong, are in critical condition and are currently being treated at the provincial general hospital.
Accident scene
This morning, leaders of Quy Hop and Con Cuong districts and relevant agencies were present at the scene to coordinate and direct the recovery of the consequences. Talking to us at the scene, Mr. Vi Thanh Tuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district said: the district leaders have just decided to provide urgent support of 2 million VND to each deceased victim. Chau Ly commune has also spent the budget to support the burial of the unfortunate victims. The local government is doing its best to share this pain with the victims' families.
