On the morning of June 25, a national conference on anti-corruption was held in Hanoi. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, chaired the conference.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that this National Conference on anti-corruption work is very important, not only reviewing the tasks since the 12th Party Congress on anti-corruption work, discussing directions and tasks in the coming time, but the Conference also looks back at the 5 years since the establishment of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption, pointing out the results achieved, the difficulties and limitations, lessons learned, and proposing solutions, in order to not only maintain but also further promote the fight against internal invaders which is at a very important and drastic stage.
This conference not only has the meaning of encouraging spirit, but also discusses practical and specific tasks, aiming to create new, stronger and more effective changes in the work of preventing and combating corruption.
At the conference, delegates gave speeches, analyzed causes and proposed solutions to effectively prevent and repel corruption in the ministries, branches and units under their charge.
Announcement of the President's Order on Cyber Security Law

On the morning of June 28, the Office of the President held a press conference to announce the President's Order on 7 laws that have just been passed by the National Assembly, including: Law on National Defense; Law on Competition; Law on Denunciation; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Physical Education and Sports; Law on Measurement and Mapping; Law on Cyber Security; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of 11 laws related to planning.
Regarding the Law on Cyber Security, Lieutenant General Hoang Phuoc Thuan, Director of the Department of Cyber Security (Ministry of Public Security) said that the Law consists of 7 chapters and 43 articles, of which Chapter III of the Law fully stipulates preventive, combative and handling measures to eliminate threats, detect and handle violations of the law.
Specifically, preventing and handling information on cyberspace containing anti-state propaganda; inciting riots, disrupting security, disturbing public order; insulting and slandering; violating economic management order; preventing cyber espionage; protecting state secrets, work secrets, and personal information on cyberspace.
The Law also stipulates the prevention and handling of acts of using cyberspace, information technology, and electronic means to violate laws on security, order, and prevention of cyber attacks; prevention of cyber terrorism, cyber warfare, etc.

More than 925,000 12th graders nationwide took the 2018 National High School Exam, which took place from June 25 to 27.
According to statistics from the National High School Examination Steering Committee, the rate of candidates attending the exam was over 99%. At the end of the exam, 77 candidates violated the regulations, of which 73 were suspended for bringing mobile phones and documents into the exam room. Three candidates were warned, one was reprimanded.

According to Decision 772/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the 2019 Population and Housing Census will be held from 0:00 on April 1, 2019.
Survey contents include: General information on population; migration status; education level and technical expertise; disability status; marital status; birth, death and population growth rates; birth registration status of children; labor and employment situation; housing status; basic living conditions of households.
The data collection period of the Census is 25 days, starting from April 1, 2019. Preliminary results will be announced in July 2019, sample survey results will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2019, and full survey results will be announced in the second quarter of 2020. Thematic analysis reports will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2020.
23 people died due to unusual floods in northern mountainous provinces

According to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, as of the morning of June 28, widespread floods in most northern mountainous provinces, from Lai Chau to Ha Giang from June 23 to 26, have killed 23 people and left 10 missing.
Regarding housing, over 160 houses collapsed and were swept away (Ha Giang 39, Lai Chau 98 and Thai Nguyen 24), in addition, 958 houses were damaged and more than 1,800 houses were flooded. Nearly 1,500 hectares of rice and crops were damaged and lost.
Total economic damage is estimated at about 458.7 billion VND (Son La: 0.76 billion VND, Ha Giang: 122 billion VND, Lai Chau: 315.8 billion VND, Thai Nguyen: 0.32 billion VND, Lao Cai: 8.5 billion VND, Yen Bai: 0.07 billion VND, Cao Bang: 0.17 billion VND, Dien Bien: 1 billion VND, Tuyen Quang: 10 billion VND).
