The US Peace Corps will come to Vietnam

At a press conference on May 23 in Hanoi, President Obama announced that the Vietnamese Government has approved allowing volunteer organizations to operate in Vietnam.
The main mission of this volunteer organization is to teach English to Vietnamese students.
"I am delighted that the Peace Corps will come to Vietnam for the first time," said President Obama. "Volunteers will focus on teaching English and the friendship between our peoples will be strengthened for decades to come."
The Peace Corps was founded by President John F. Kennedy in 1961. During his 1960 presidential campaign, Kennedy called on American students to spend two years helping people in developing countries.
More than 220,000 Americans have participated in this volunteer program in 140 countries.
