Among the 600 new questions used for road motor vehicle driving tests, effective from June 1st, several questions related to electric vehicles have appeared.

Following the directives of the Government and the Ministry of Public Security on improving the quality of driver's license examinations, the Traffic Police Department has compiled a set of 600 questions for use in road motor vehicle driver's license examinations. The question set is scientifically structured, updated with the latest legal regulations, and ensures suitability to practical requirements and the necessary competencies of drivers.

For the first time, the theory test includes questions related to electric vehicles.

Of the 600 questions, two directly relate to electric vehicles: questions 262 and 263.

Question 262:When driving an electric car down long slopes or mountain passes, what should drivers pay attention to in order to ensure safety?

1. Check the vehicle's safety system and battery before departure.

2. Release the accelerator pedal to allow the regenerative braking to engage.

3. Apply the foot brake to react promptly to emergency situations.

4. All three above.

The correct answer is 4 - "all three above". Regenerative braking is a technology that helps the vehicle recover energy during deceleration. Drivers should select the highest regenerative braking setting to fully utilize its features when going downhill, while also ensuring safety by lightly applying the brakes in case of unexpected situations.

Question 263:What precautions should drivers take when driving electric cars through flooded areas?

1. Drivers must assess the vehicle's ability to submerge in water to determine the appropriate route.

2. Maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel, drive at a steady speed, avoid stalling in the middle of the road, and do not stop the vehicle on flooded roads.

3. Drive slowly, avoid creating waves, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, especially pedestrians.

4. All three above.

The correct answer is 4 - "all three above". Many drivers often underestimate electric vehicles, assuming they are better at navigating flooded areas than internal combustion engine vehicles, which are more prone to stalling. However, electric vehicles have certain water-crossing capabilities, and drivers need to be aware of this. On flooded roads, skills such as maintaining control of the steering wheel, driving steadily at a slow speed, and keeping a safe distance are also very important.

Đáp án đúng cho cả 3 câu hỏi có nội dung liên quan tới xe điện đều là 4 - các đáp án trong câu hỏi đều đúng.

Additionally, there is a question with an answer related to electric vehicles as follows:

Question 202:What fire prevention and firefighting measures should drivers and owners of motorized road vehicles take?

1. Do not install additional electrical equipment or accessories that are not in accordance with the manufacturer's design; comply with the operating and maintenance procedures; regularly inspect the vehicle, and if any unusual signs are detected (difficulty starting, gasoline fumes, unusual noises, high engine temperature, burning smell), rectify the problem immediately.

2. When parking your vehicle indoors or in a designated parking area, turn off the ignition and keep it away from sources of fire or heat; do not buy gasoline or diesel fuel from unauthorized vendors or those of unknown origin; do not use unverified "fuel-saving" methods that may damage your vehicle or increase the risk of fire.

3. Do not store flammable or combustible materials in the vehicle, under the seat, in the trunk, or in the engine compartment. For electric vehicles, choose a safe charging location, use charging equipment correctly, and monitor the charging process.

4. All three above.

The correct answer is "all three above". It's clear that safety precautions regarding fire and explosion prevention during electric vehicle charging have been given attention, and drivers need to be mindful of these points when charging their vehicles.

Overall, the question set is structured into 6 chapters, including: General regulations and rules of road traffic: 180 questions; Traffic culture, driver ethics, fire prevention, firefighting and rescue skills: 25 questions; Driving techniques: 58 questions; Vehicle structure and repair: 37 questions; Road signs: 185 questions; Traffic diagram interpretation and handling skills: 115 questions.

Additionally, the questionnaire includes 60 questions about serious traffic safety violations. Candidates who answer any question incorrectly in this group will be assessed as failing.
