Organizing many activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army

The Central Propaganda Department has just issued Instruction No. 134-HD/BTGTW, guiding propaganda to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014) and the 25th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2014).

Accordingly, the purpose is to widely propagate so that all classes of people are deeply aware of the great role of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland over the past 7 decades and the great responsibility of our army in the new period; affirm the correct and wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in determining the revolutionary path, building the people's armed forces and the Vietnam People's Army; recognize and evaluate the great achievements in 25 years of implementing the National Defense Day, building the national defense in the new period.

Strengthening confidence, arousing pride, promoting the responsibility of the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army for the task of building a strong national defense, building a national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture, building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern People's Army, meeting the requirements of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new situation.

It is required that the propaganda activities to celebrate the anniversary should be carried out in a variety of forms, with focus, key points, efficiency, safety and economy; promote the completion of socio-economic, security and defense tasks in 2014, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels and the 11th National Party Congress.

The guidelines clearly state the propaganda content including: The process of building and growing, the fighting tradition and victory of the Vietnam People's Army over the past 70 years, associated with the glorious history of revolutionary struggle of the nation and the Communist Party of Vietnam; affirming the role of the People's Army in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and building a national defense for all people; great lessons learned in building the People's Army, building a national defense for all people and people's war to protect the Fatherland; advantages, difficulties and tasks of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, gradually modern People's Army, promoting the spirit of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, revolutionary vigilance, combat readiness and sense of organization and discipline and spirit of serving the Fatherland and serving the people.

Continue to propagate the shining examples of revolutionary heroism, typical individuals in the patriotic emulation movements of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army, especially in the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's soldiers", the emulation movement "Forever shining the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers", "The army joins hands to build the countryside" in the entire army...

The great achievements in 25 years of implementing the National Defense Day by the people of localities across the country; the efforts of the army in advising and playing a core role in the country's defense activities, building a strong national defense, associated with people's security, defeating all plots and tricks against our country by hostile forces, maintaining independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of the Fatherland; the lessons learned and responsibilities of the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army in implementing the National Defense Day. At the same time, propagandizing and reflecting the commemorative activities, emulation movements to achieve achievements to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

According to the Guidelines, the forms of propaganda for the anniversary include: Organizing a national-level celebration ceremony; organizing seminars, scientific conferences, meetings, and exchanges; organizing a contest to learn about the tradition of "70 years of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and 25 years of the National Defense Day"; organizing cultural, artistic, sports, and exhibition activities; organizing the compilation and publication of documents, outlines, and some propaganda publications about the event; organizing propaganda on mass media; organizing gratitude activities; and emulation movements.

Along with the Guidelines, the Central Propaganda Department also issued a propaganda outline to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
