Solemnly organized the 110th Anniversary of Comrade Phan Dang Luu's Birth

(Baonghean.vn) - Today (May 4, 2012), in Yen Thanh district, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of comrade Phan Dang Luu (May 5, 1902 - May 5, 2012) - an outstanding revolutionary predecessor of the Party, an outstanding son of Nghe An homeland.

Attending the ceremony were comrades Vu Ngoc Hoang - Member of the Party Central Committee - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Nguyen The Ky - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Truong Thi Thong - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of a number of central departments and branches... On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Party Central Committee - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Tran Hong Chau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches, and mass organizations at the provincial level; representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor; leaders of Yen Thanh district, representatives of religious dignitaries, relatives of comrade Phan Dang Luu and a large number of people from all walks of life in Yen Thanh.

Comrade Phan Dang Luu was born on May 5, 1902 in a patriotic Confucian family in Trang Thanh commune, now Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province. Since childhood, comrade Phan Dang Luu was greatly influenced by the patriotic tradition of his family and hometown, and soon became a staunch revolutionary soldier in the patriotic movement against French colonialism. From the Phuc Viet Association and Tan Viet Revolutionary Party, Phan Dang Luu became an outstanding revolutionary predecessor of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Throughout his revolutionary career, through many periods and in many different positions, comrade Phan Dang Luu always showed himself to be a steadfast, courageous communist, an experienced, talented, and virtuous leader. He was a person with a simple, modest lifestyle, devoted to the country, the people, and the Party, and made many positive contributions to the work of Party building and organization and the common cause of the Vietnamese revolution.

The speech of the Provincial Party Secretary read at the Commemoration Ceremony stated: The life and revolutionary career of Comrade Phan Dang Luu is a shining example of absolute loyalty to Marxism-Leninism and the revolutionary line of the Party and Uncle Ho; of the spirit of enthusiastic learning, to achieve a high and comprehensive level of knowledge to serve the Party, the revolution, the nation, and the people; of great concern for training the young generation and fostering knowledge for compatriots and comrades; of thoroughly using the tools of knowledge such as books and newspapers for revolutionary activities; of fully, intelligently and clearly applying in planning policies and solving specific problems of the revolution. Comrade Phan Dang Luu will forever be a shining example of revolutionary heroism for generations to follow.

The 110th anniversary of Comrade Phan Dang Luu's birth is an opportunity to review his great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the people and the country. From there, we are even more proud and grateful for Comrade Phan Dang Luu's great contributions to the Vietnamese revolution, striving to build our homeland and country to become increasingly prosperous and sustainably developed.

At the ceremony, representatives of the province's youth promised to be determined to learn and follow the example of the communist soldiers who went before, to unite and unanimously overcome difficulties, to promote the spirit of volunteerism in all fields, to constantly study, practice, improve knowledge, proactively integrate internationally, build and protect the Fatherland, and be worthy of being the young generation in the heroic homeland of the indomitable Phan Dang Luu.
