Special task force directs transportation in 19 southern provinces and cities

The working group is responsible for directly coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the southern region, the Central Highlands, the South Central Coast and related localities, especially localities implementing social distancing according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg, ministries and branches to proactively handle and immediately resolve arising tasks in transportation activities and related issues.

Directly direct agencies and units under the transport sector to ensure smooth transportation of goods, production materials, food, essential goods between epidemic provinces and cities, and between epidemic provinces and cities with other localities.

The working group reports daily to the Minister, reports to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, and promptly makes proposals and recommendations on issues beyond its authority.

Previously, on the evening of July 18, the Prime Minister issued an urgent dispatch on the establishment of a special task force to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. The dispatch sent to the Ministers of the Ministries of National Defense, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Construction, Information and Communications, and Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs clearly stated: In order to promptly and effectively support and serve the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City and southern localities, the Prime Minister requested the Ministers, based on their assigned functions, tasks and powers, to immediately establish a "Special Working Group" for Covid-19 prevention and control of each Ministry in Ho Chi Minh City, led by a Deputy Minister directly in charge, to closely coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City and southern localities, especially localities implementing Directive No. 16/CT-TTg, to proactively handle and immediately resolve arising tasks in the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic and related issues.

The special task force reports daily to the Minister and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control and promptly makes proposals and recommendations on issues beyond its authority.

This is a very important and urgent task; the Prime Minister requested the Ministers to focus on directing the implementation, promptly promoting the effective role of the Ministry's Special Task Force in epidemic prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh City and southern localities.
