Russian Iskander missile complex participates in exercises in the Baltic Sea
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Roman Martov, head of the press service of the Western Military District of the Baltic Fleet of Russia, said that the Iskander tactical missile complex squad of the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises in the Kaliningrad region to carry out a simulated missile attack.
"As part of the training plan, missile operators secretly approached the designated area where launch sites were already set up. They carried out separate and group missile launches against simulated missile launchers, airfields, and command posts of a notional enemy," Martov said.

As Mr. Martov said, after carrying out electronic launches, the servicemen changed their positions to escape a possible retaliatory strike. The Fleet's missile launch teams also performed maneuvers in conditions of radiation and chemical contamination on the terrain, fulfilling the task of repelling the enemy's attack.
Captain Martov also said: "The issue that was given special attention during this combat training event was improving coordination between teams and subunits, professional skills of soldiers when moving to the designated area and camouflage techniques of combat vehicles."
The event took place in the context of NATO conducting the BALTOPS 2019 naval exercise, which began on June 9 in the Baltic Sea.
