Other Venezuelan officials summoned include Aragua state Governor Tareck El Aissami, Commander-in-Chief of Venezuela's Bolivarian National Guard Néstor Luis Reverol and former Interior Minister Miguel Rodríguez Torres.
The provocative move could spark new tensions between the two countries, which have just begun talks to improve diplomatic relations after more than a decade of turmoil.
Previously, many American media outlets also called Mr. Cabello - considered the number 2 figure in the ruling United Socialist Party - the head of the "Sun Gang" specializing in drug trafficking./.
