Nghe An Provincial People's Court granted amnesty and early release to 15 prisoners

(Baonghean) -This afternoon, September 1, in Vinh city, authorized by the President, the Chief Justice of Nghe An Provincial People's Court announced and handed over the decision to grant amnesty and early release to 15 prisoners in Nghe An. Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Police and Provincial People's Procuracy.

The 15 prisoners released early this time were selected from a list of 18 people that the Provincial Amnesty Advisory Council submitted to the Central Amnesty Advisory Council. The above prisoners were sentenced to prison terms of less than 3 years but are currently being suspended by the Court and are being rehabilitated in society. During the suspension of the prison sentence, prisoners with special circumstances such as serious illness, sole labor in the family or great achievements (rescuing people in floods) should be considered for early release.

This is the largest number of prisoners with suspended sentences who are currently living outside the community and have been pardoned ever.
