Provincial People's Court granted amnesty to 5 convicts
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 1, the Provincial People's Court held a ceremony to announce the President's decision to grant amnesty to 5 convicts whose prison sentences were being postponed or temporarily suspended.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leaders of the People's Council, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial Police.
The five convicts granted amnesty this time are those who are in the phase of having their prison sentences postponed or temporarily suspended. The convicts are all in difficult circumstances, have made much progress during their sentences, and some have serious illnesses.
At the ceremony, Mr. Ho Dinh Trung, Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court, presented the President's amnesty decision to 5 convicts.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the humanitarian and lenient spirit of the Party and State towards those who had made mistakes in the past but have repented, reformed and strived to do well.
He suggested that those who were pardoned after returning to their families and society must be good, live a useful life, and comply with the policies and laws of the Party and State.
