Vinh City Court holds mobile trial in Doi Cung ward
(Baonghean.vn) -In order to raise awareness of people's responsibility to comply with the law, Vinh City People's Court has just organized a mobile trial at the cultural house of block 10, Doi Cung ward for 5 criminal cases of illegal drug trading and possession, theft and robbery.
The defendants include: Phan Van Kien, born in 1980, residing in Block 10, Quang Trung Ward - Vinh City, Nguyen Tuan Thien, born in 1962, residing in Block 7, Cua Nam Ward and Dang Cong Thanh, born in 1983, residing in Block 10, Doi Cung Ward, Dang Ba Chung, born in 1976, residing in Block 5, Doi Cung Ward - Vinh City. These subjects were prosecuted by the Vinh City People's Procuracy for the crime of illegal trading and possession of narcotics.
At the trial, Vinh City Court also tried the cases of property theft against defendant Nguyen Van Dung, born in 1991, residing in Hamlet 8, Nghi Lien Commune - Vinh City and Nguyen Van Khanh, born in 1995, residing in Hamlet 9, Nghi Thach Commune - Nghi Loc District, for the crime of property robbery.
The defendants confessed their crimes.Representatives of the Vinh City People's Procuracy, in addition to prosecuting, also educated the defendants and disseminated the law to the people attending the trial. Based on the nature, level, and criminal behavior of the defendants, the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, and on the basis of the request of the Procuracy, the panel sentenced the defendants to terms ranging from 3 to 7 years in prison.
