Discussion in response to World Tuberculosis Day (March 24)
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 24, the Department of Health and Nghe An Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Hospital held a seminar to respond to World Tuberculosis Day, March 24, 2015, to summarize the activities of the National Tuberculosis Control Program and to deploy the 2015 plan.
In recent times, Nghe An has basically controlled the increase in tuberculosis. The anti-tuberculosis network in Nghe An includes a provincial tuberculosis and lung hospital, 23 anti-tuberculosis teams at district level, 10 points at 10 general hospitals, a number of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and 480 commune and ward specialists who have been actively operating. In 2014, Nghe An had over 25,200 people tested for sputum, detected 2,800 tuberculosis patients of all types and admitted for treatment, the cure rate reached 93%. However, currently, tuberculosis prevention work is still facing many difficulties, notably the burden of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and tuberculosis/HIV, tuberculosis in children, besides that public and private health care has not really participated.

In 2015, tuberculosis prevention work will focus on key activities, striving for the rate of people having sputum tests to reach 0.8% - 1%, 100% of pulmonary tuberculosis patients to have sputum tests; Admission of more than 2,500 tuberculosis patients of all types; Treatment and cure rate to reach over 85%.
