Conference overview |
Quy Chau is a land with a long history and cultural tradition. Nature has bestowed Quy Chau with many famous landscapes, scenic spots, and historical relics. Notably, Tham Om Cave, where German archaeologists found the teeth of an ancient ape man who lived 200,000 years ago. Quy Chau also has Bua Cave, Tham Chang relic, Doc Binh Lang Van Thiet's tomb and apple tree, Muong Chieng Ngam Temple, and Huong An Temple, where Hoang Van Thu Party cell was established, the predecessor of today's Quy Chau District Party Committee.
After many years of concern and focused leadership and direction in 2012, Quy Chau district completed the book: "Geography of Quy Chau district". This is a book that comprehensively introduces the nature, people, history, economy, and culture of this land. From this book and from many reliable sources, with the help of clearly defined historians, Quy Chau district has determined its "birth" date. That is April 5 (lunar calendar), the 3rd year of Yongle, during the reign of Minh Thanh To, that is May 13, 1415 (solar calendar) in Giao Chi, Dien Chau Prefecture established Quy Chau, which is Quy Chau today.
Faced with such historical evidence, the Provincial Party Committee has agreed in principle to let Quy Chau district organize a ceremony to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the name Quy Chau at the district level in 2015. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the tradition and morality of "drinking water, remembering its source" for the generations of ancestors who have contributed to building and defending the country. At the same time, it is an opportunity to affirm and honor the historical values, cultural traditions, and revolution of the homeland, to promote the potential, strengths, and unique cultural values of the ethnic groups in Quy Chau, contributing to the development of Quy Chau. The ceremony is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of 2015.
