Seminar to celebrate 57 years of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27)
(Baonghean) -This morning, February 22, in Vinh city, Nghe An Department of Health organized a seminar to celebrate the 57th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2012), meeting with outstanding doctors and leaders of the health sector through the ages.
Attending the discussion were comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of leaders of departments, branches, districts and cities in the province.
At the seminar, the delegates reviewed the 57-year tradition of the health sector in general and Nghe An health sector in particular; expressed deep gratitude to many previous generations of doctors who have made great contributions to the health care of the people, making an important contribution to the development of the province. The leaders of Nghe An Department of Health reported the achievements of the sector in the past year and outlined the work orientations for 2012. The report stated: In 2011, the health sector made efforts to achieve and exceed the targets and plans set out. In particular, many advanced techniques in diagnosis and treatment were successfully deployed. The projects to build new hospitals were directed by the sector to be implemented on schedule such as the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Oncology Hospital, Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, Orthopedics and Traumatology Center, etc.
During the discussion, many enthusiastic opinions were contributed by delegates to the health sector on solutions to overcome some current problems such as overload leading to limited quality of patient care, the sector's ability to respond to medical examination and treatment not commensurate with the needs of the people, medical ethics of medical staff, and many shortcomings in the waste treatment system...
The comments focused on discussing specific and practical measures to help the sector successfully implement public health care in the coming time, such as: Innovating hospital management and administration mechanisms; training and developing medical human resources, attracting medical staff; successfully implementing approved projects, especially the project "Improving medical ethics in medical examination and treatment facilities"; Promoting socialization of medical work; Strengthening state management of health from the province to the grassroots level.
Speaking at the seminar, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong praised the results that the health sector has achieved in the past time; At the same time, he noted that in the coming time, the sector needs to focus on implementing a number of key tasks, including focusing on training and developing human resources, accelerating the progress of projects to build provincial and district hospitals using government bonds, promoting the socialization of health care work, strengthening international cooperation with government and non-governmental organizations for investment in building facilities for health stations, making the most of existing resources, mobilizing community contributions through hospital fees, health insurance, managing and using investment financial resources for the right purposes, achieving high efficiency.
During the discussion this morning, Nghe An health sector also announced the list of doctors who were awarded and honored: Doctor CK2 Duong Cong Hoat - Director of Nghe An Children's Hospital was honored to be awarded the title of People's Doctor by the President; 10 doctors were honored to be awarded the title of Meritorious Doctor by the President; 6 groups and 23 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee./.
