As the female leader of a faculty with a tradition of a very vibrant Youth Union movement, Hoang Thi Yen (class K37C, Preschool Faculty, Nghe An Pedagogical College) has her own secret to building an increasingly strong Youth Union branch.

Passionate about movement activities since high school, Yen has been enthusiastically participating in the Youth Union and Association since her first days in school. As a seed of the arts, Yen is not only an active member of the dance team, but also participates in directing and staging many school and faculty performances to serve the ceremonies organized by the school.
Sharing the secret to doing well in the role of “leader”, according to Yen, it is necessary to continuously launch widespread movements to the branches, along with grasping the thoughts and aspirations of student union members to come up with movements and activities that are suitable to reality. Not only that, the leader must be sensitive, assigning appropriate tasks so that each union member has the opportunity to develop their full potential; or such as managing union members on a small scale - union member groups. At that time, just need to grasp the key point as the group leader, can mobilize other union members to participate and respond.
In addition, as the President of the Preschool Faculty Association and Class Secretary, Yen has organized and implemented many practical and meaningful programs for the Youth Union such as "Students and teaching ethics", "Students and traffic safety", "Vi Giam folk songs - composition, performance, choreography"...
Participating in the Youth Union and Association activities requires a lot of time and effort. There are peak days, studying all day in class, organizing Youth Union activities and performing arts in the evenings, which is very tiring, but Yen is always in the top of the school's academic leaders. Every school year, Yen receives a scholarship. With a serious learning attitude, for many consecutive years Yen has achieved the title of excellent student, "5 Good Student", was honored to be admitted to the Party since her second year and became the youngest Party member at that time.
Efforts to excel in learning
From the first days of going to school, hearing the warm and friendly voices and caring gestures of the teachers, Dinh Thi Ngoc Hang (class 55A, Faculty of Political Education, Vinh University) has nurtured the determination to become a teacher. Since the age of 13, Hang has tutored children in the residential area. The class is still maintained with 17 students, ranging in age from grade 1 to grade 5. "I like teaching, being called "teacher" by the children, I have more motivation and passion for the profession", Hang confided.

To move forward and lay a solid foundation for her passion, right from the first days at university, Hang has set a clear roadmap for herself and made constant efforts and efforts. Outside of class, she explores, learns, and improves her knowledge. Therefore, Hang always achieves high awards in professional competitions. In addition, Hang also actively participates in scientific research activities for students. With the topic "Improving the quality of scientific research (NCKH) in Vinh University students", she hopes that scientific research is not a constraint or compulsion, but becomes an essential need for students.
Talking about the “secret” to being able to study and do so many things at the same time, but always achieving excellent academic results, Hang shared: “I don’t have any special secret. It’s just that when I study in class, I am very focused, and I study according to the method of understanding and deepening knowledge right on the spot, so when I review, it doesn’t take me much time. In addition to studying at school, I participate in Union and Association activities. “When you are familiar with how to balance, plan and balance your studies, practice yourself, and participate in social work, that is also when you learn soft skills such as: personal time management, teamwork and independent work, communication skills, perseverance, and patience to overcome difficulties in all situations.”Passion for volunteering
The first impression when meeting Pham Thi Thu Ha (Accounting class K9, Vinh University of Technical Education) is that she is a lively girl, has a calm way of speaking, and the decisive eyes of a leader. Coming from a poor family, Ha herself had to be independent, working part-time to pay for her tuition with many jobs such as: selling, serving, washing dishes, tutoring. Ha said: "Perhaps it is from the experience with many jobs early on, understanding the hardships, that always urges me to come to volunteer activities, to have the opportunity to help people in difficulty, to share, to broaden my knowledge, and to become more mature".

Simple, practical, “tired but happy” has become the guiding principle for the volunteer activities that Ha is the team leader. This is also the secret for a Youth Union leader like this student to be able to attract and gather youth union members to participate. For Ha, the most “beneficial” thing when participating in volunteering is not only the interesting experiences of new lands and new people, but also the close affection of the people where the volunteer team passes through. Eagerly showing me the handwritten letters received from children in the highlands, Ha said with sparkling eyes: “The things we do may not be great, but when we read the handwritten letters, we understand how our volunteer hearts have been “imprinted” in the minds of the people, how much they are trusted, and it motivates us to volunteer even more”.
Not only is she a pioneering female leader in volunteer activities, Ha is also a class monitor who always leads in academic results.
