The whole province has 356 thousand studious families.
On the morning of July 19, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education, term 2, held its 10th meeting to approve the contents and documents to prepare for the 3rd Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education Congress, term 2011-2015, and to review the promotion of education in the first 6 months of 2011.
During the past term, the work of promoting learning and the activities of Nghe An's Learning Promotion Associations at all levels continued to develop strongly. Almost all 8 targets set by the 2nd Congress were achieved and exceeded by all levels of the Learning Promotion Associations. By the end of 2010, activities were maintained in 100% of the Learning Promotion Associations of districts, cities, towns, 100% of the Learning Promotion Associations of communes, wards, towns, and schools, nearly 5,600 clan Learning Promotion Boards were established; the number of members in the whole province was over 460,000 and there were 356,000 studious families. Movements such as "Study-loving families", "Study-loving clans", "Study-loving communes, wards, and towns", "Study-loving villages and blocks", "Study-loving Tet"... were enthusiastically responded to by localities, agencies, units, and clans and achieved high results. In particular, the "Month of Learning Promotion" movement is an initiative of Nghe An Learning Promotion Association, which has been implemented for the 8th year and has been expanded by the Central Committee of Vietnam Learning Promotion Association to become a nationwide emulation movement.
In 5 years, more than 147 billion VND has been mobilized. The average is over 9 thousand VND/person/year; nearly 119 billion VND has been spent to reward hundreds of thousands of excellent students at all levels. Of which, there are 365 national excellent students and 15 international excellent students. The Association also awarded tens of thousands of scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties, and supported teachers in difficult circumstances.
