Ebola outbreak in West Africa nearly doubles
According to FRA on September 16, the spread of Ebola in West African countries has nearly doubled. Nearly 40% of the infections have been recorded in the past 21 days.

So far, 2,461 people have died from the virus, while 4,985 cases of infection have been recorded. According to TASS news agency, the mortality rate of the Ebola virus is very high and can reach 60-70%. Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone are the countries most affected by the Ebola virus.
Up to 22.5 million people live in the areas where the Ebola virus disease is spreading fastest.
The current outbreak is “unprecedented in modern history,” World Health Organization (WHO) Assistant Director-General Bruce Ayluord said.
