By summer, the West will be able to train up to 300,000 Ukrainian troops.
Western countries could properly train about 300,000 Ukrainian servicemen for new offensive operations as early as the summer of 2023, Russian military expert Alexei Leonkov told Sputnik on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, The Washington Post reported that the Pentagon is considering expanding its training program for the Ukrainian military stationed in Germany to conduct “sophisticated operations.”

"Intensive training is underway to meet the increased number of NATO weapons, in particular in the use, coordination and interaction of weapons. The entire program of training and the supply of these weapons will most likely reach its maximum level by the beginning of next summer. By mid-summer, a force of about 250-300 thousand soldiers can be trained," Leonkov predicted.
Which countries train Ukrainian soldiers?
He reiterated that training courses are held not only in Germany but also in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain, Britain and France. Special forces for “delicate and dirty missions” are trained separately in Australia and New Zealand.
"A lot of training areas have been mobilized. Once they get up to speed, they will be able to train 50,000 soldiers per month," the source said.
