Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc answered the press at the press conference on the afternoon of April 26. |
“In every election, there are local authorities who request a certain leader to run for office in their locality, and some leaders are nominated by many localities. However, due to the division of work, the positions are arranged in all regions,” Mr. Phuc added.

High credit at residence is still eliminated is normal
Responding to a reporter's question about his views on the list of self-nominated candidates, Chief of Office of the National Election Council Nguyen Hanh Phuc expressed his welcome and said that this shows that people are interested and want to participate in the National Assembly forum, contributing to the activities of the National Assembly.
“Recently, many people in many different positions have applied for election, through comparing standards and gaining trust at their place of residence, through previous rounds of consultation to finalize the official list. Both self-nominated candidates and recommended candidates have gone through strict rounds according to legal regulations,” Mr. Phuc emphasized.
Regarding the fact that some self-nominated candidates were highly trusted by voters in their place of residence, even 100%, but were eliminated in the third round of consultation, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc said that this is normal.
“The third round of consultation is very important, the decision to select and make a list is based on the results of the rounds, from the place of residence, the two previous rounds of consultation to make a comprehensive assessment,” said Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, mentioning that in the case of Mr. Tran Dang Tuan, only 13/83 people supported him at the final consultation conference, which is very low.
Regarding concerns about the form of voting by show of hands at the consultation round, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc said that at the conference, the chairman asked voters for permission to use secret ballot or show of hands and that was the right of the voters, no one was forced to vote by secret ballot or show of hands. Moreover, the vote counter was elected by the voters attending the conference, so the result was accurate.
Regarding the rights of detainees, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc knows that these people can still vote because they have not lost their citizenship rights and that voting is organized through many forms to ensure citizenship rights./.
