Towards the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations (1954-2024) and to welcome the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Mongolia, on the afternoon of September 30, at the Opera and Ballet Theater, capital of Ulaanbaatar, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia held the Opening Ceremony of Vietnam Cultural Day in Mongolia 2024.

General Secretary and President To Lam and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh along with the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam and Mongolia attended the opening ceremony of Vietnam Cultural Day in Mongolia 2024. Attending the program were representatives of Mongolian ministries and branches, Ambassadors, representatives of embassies of countries in Mongolia, a large number of the public and the Vietnamese community in Mongolia.

In his opening speech, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that 70 years ago (November 1954), Vietnam and Mongolia officially established diplomatic relations, opening a new and important page in history, meeting the will and aspirations of the leaders and people of the two countries. Immediately after establishing diplomatic relations, the great President Ho Chi Minh of the Vietnamese nation visited Mongolia (May 1955), laying a solid foundation for the relationship between the two countries. Since then, the friendship between the two countries has always maintained a foundation of mutual understanding and trust, and cooperation in all fields has been consolidated and enhanced.

This visit to Mongolia by General Secretary and President To Lam opens a new chapter when the two countries officially upgrade their relationship to Comprehensive Partnership, creating a breakthrough in development in the coming period, including in the fields of culture and tourism. Emphasizing the role of cultural exchange cooperation between the two countries, Minister Nguyen Van Hung stated that the Vietnam Cultural Day in Mongolia this time is an important milestone, contributing to strengthening the friendship and developing comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Mongolia.

In his welcoming speech, Mongolian Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Nomin Chinbat emphasized that from the long-standing relationship and respect for each country's history and culture, the Vietnam-Mongolia cooperation relationship has continuously developed and continues to be expanded and strengthened today, including in culture and tourism. Pleased with the signing and implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Cultural Field and the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Tourism Field by the two sides, Minister Nomin Chinbat affirmed that the Vietnam Cultural Day in Mongolia, held within the framework of the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Mongolia, continues to be a testament to the growing cooperation between the two countries. This event was warmly welcomed by the Mongolian public as a response to the "Go Monglia" program organized by Mongolia in April 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

After the opening ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, along with the high-ranking delegations of the two countries and the audience, enjoyed the art performance "Sac Viet" performed by the Vietnam Music, Dance and Song Theater. With traditional, typical and unique Vietnamese musical instruments such as: T'rung, Dan Da, Nhi, Bau, Sao, Tam Thap Luc, Ty Ba, Thap Luc... and arranged in a modern style, the art performances introduced the image of Vietnam as a peaceful, stable country with great potential for development in the process of international integration; at the same time, expressing pride in the role and position of Vietnam in the international arena; promoting the good cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people "hospitable, harmonious and affectionate".

Besides the traditional Vietnamese art performances, the artists performed some world-famous and Mongolian performances, demonstrating the cultural exchange between Vietnam and other countries in the new era.

With a capacity of nearly 600 seats, the Mongolian Opera and Ballet Theater was full and the continuous applause was a testament to the success of the art program and the precious feelings of Mongolian audiences and international friends for Vietnamese artists.

*Previously, at the Theater lobby, General Secretary and President To Lam and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, along with high-ranking delegations from both countries and the audience, visited the exhibition space, displaying impressive photographic works about natural and cultural heritages in Vietnam recognized as world heritages by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), along with a number of types of titles recognized by UNESCO, Vietnamese handicrafts... The heritages demonstrate the harmonious connection between preserving national cultural identity with protecting the natural environment, conserving biodiversity and developing the economy.

With a unique cultural space, through the language of art and from art, Vietnam Cultural Day in Mongolia takes place from September 30 to October 2, introducing and promoting to the Mongolian public and international friends the image of Vietnam as a safe, friendly, peaceful, hospitable, integrated and developed country, with diverse and unique cultural resources, and rich natural tourism resources.

After the opening ceremony, Vietnamese cultural activities continued to be held at Sukhbaatar Square, the capital of Ulaanbaatar, to serve the public. The first Vietnamese Cultural Day held in Mongolia made an important contribution to enhancing understanding, friendship and good cooperation between the people of the two countries, continuing to contribute to the development of Vietnam - Mongolia cooperation in the coming time./.
