General Secretary offers incense in memory of General Secretary Truong Chinh

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong offered incense at the memorial house of General Secretary Truong Chinh in Xuan Truong village, Nam Dinh.

On the occasion of his visit and work in Nam Dinh province, yesterday afternoon (February 8), General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited house number 7 Ben Ngu street, Nam Dinh city, which witnessed many important historical events of the country, a liaison and gathering place to send patriotic youth abroad to attend training courses by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc to train revolutionary cadres for the whole country.

Afterwards, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong offered incense at the Memorial House of General Secretary Truong Chinh in Hanh Thien village, Xuan Hong commune, Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province - the hometown of General Secretary Truong Chinh; and offered incense and flowers at the statue of General Secretary Truong Chinh in the center of Xuan Truong town.

The incense offering ceremony was organized by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dinh province. This is one of the activities to celebrate the 110th birthday of General Secretary Truong Chinh (February 9, 1907 - February 9, 2017).

Attending the ceremony were many members of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, leaders of many departments, ministries, branches, central agencies, Nam Dinh province, Xuan Truong district, Xuan Hong commune and a large number of local people.

On the same afternoon, in Nam Dinh City, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited and talked with cadres, lecturers, students and staff of Truong Chinh Political School.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized the importance and profound significance of studying and researching theory, especially that cadres and party members must study theory. As V. Lenin once said: "Without revolutionary theory, there can be no revolutionary movement."

President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: “Practice without theory to guide it becomes blind practice. Theory without connection to practice is empty theory.”

Truong Chinh Political School was established quite early, after more than 60 years of construction and development, the school has always fulfilled its mission of training and fostering political theory knowledge for the province's cadres. Especially from 1999 to now, the school has been honored to be named after General Secretary Truong Chinh, an outstanding leader of the Party, theorist, thinker, journalist, poet, revolutionary activist...

In any position, General Secretary Truong Chinh stood out as an outstanding leader of the Party and an outstanding son of his hometown Nam Dinh.

Appreciating the achievements that Truong Chinh Political School has made in political theory education, the General Secretary hopes that the school will continue to promote its glorious tradition, do a good job in educating and training cadres and party members, and linking theory with practice.

In the market economy, many cadres and party members have not paid attention to studying theory, especially Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, and the Vietnamese revolutionary path.

The General Secretary reminded that learning theory must not be mechanical and dogmatic, but must be creatively applied to practical conditions in Vietnam.

The General Secretary wished the staff, lecturers and employees of Truong Chinh Political School to continuously strive to improve their qualifications and knowledge, and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people, worthy of the school named after General Secretary Truong Chinh.
