General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong meets with leaders of the Communist Party USA

On the morning of July 10, Hanoi time, in New York City, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with the leadership of the Communist Party USA.

On the afternoon of July 9 local time, or the morning of July 10 Hanoi time, in New York City, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a meeting with the leadership of the Communist Party USA.

Comrade John Bachtell - Chairman of the Communist Party of the United States warmly welcomed General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to the United States, saying that Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to the United States this time has important historical significance for the Vietnam - US bilateral relationship, affirming the position of the Communist Party of Vietnam, bringing great encouragement to American communists and working people.

The Chairman of the Communist Party of the United States highly appreciated and congratulated the great and historic achievements that the Party and people of Vietnam have attained in the past 30 years of Doi Moi; he said that Vietnam's real socio-economic development achievements are the most vivid proof of the efforts and implementation capacity of a country led by the Communist Party.

With the sentiments of a communist soldier, comrade John Bachtell expressed his pride in the traditional solidarity between the Communist Party of the United States and the Communist Party of Vietnam, affirming that the Communist Party of the United States supports and will do everything possible to contribute to creating a favorable atmosphere for the development of relations between Vietnam and the United States. Comrade John Bachtell introduced to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong some of the current and upcoming situations in the United States and activities of the Communist Party of the United States.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong congratulated the success of the 30th Congress of the Communist Party of the United States and congratulated comrade John Bachtell on being elected as Party Chairman; expressing his belief that the Communist Party of the United States will continue to strive to fulfill its great responsibility as the vanguard party and political support for the working class and working people of the United States.

The General Secretary sincerely thanked the US communists for their great, wholehearted and loyal support for the past revolutionary cause of national liberation and reunification, as well as for the current cause of national construction and development of the Party and people of Vietnam.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that despite the geographical distance, the Communist Party and people of Vietnam always pay attention to and follow the career of American communists and are pleased to see that the traditional close relationship between the two Parties has been continuously consolidated and strengthened over the years.

The General Secretary respectfully invited Comrade John Bachtell to lead a delegation of the Communist Party of the United States of America to visit Vietnam later this year. Comrade John Bachtell sincerely thanked him and happily accepted the invitation.
