General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sends congratulatory letter to Laos and Cambodia on traditional New Year

On the occasion of Laos's Bun Pi May and Cambodia's Chol Chnam Thmay,General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trongsent a letter and a basket of flowers to congratulate Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Comrade Hun Sen - President of the Cambodian People's Party, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The content of the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith reads:

“On the occasion of the traditional Lao New Year (Bun Pi May), on behalf of the Party, State, and People of Vietnam and in my own name, I would like to send to Comrade General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and the leaders of the Party, State, and people of all Lao ethnic groups my close comradely feelings and best wishes for a new year of health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.

The Party, State and People of Vietnam believe that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party headed by Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, the Lao people will overcome all difficulties and challenges, continue to gain new and greater achievements in the renovation process, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 9th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan, and successfully build a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and prosperous Laos according to socialist goals.

The Party, State and People of Vietnam are extremely pleased with the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos that is increasingly developing, going into depth, being practical and effective in all fields, actively contributing to the cause of innovation, national construction and protection in each country.

“On the occasion of the traditional New Year of the Cambodian People (Chôl Chnam Thmay), on behalf of the Party, State, and People of Vietnam and in my own name, I would like to send to Comrade Hun Sen and the leaders of the Cambodian People's Party, the State, and all Cambodian people my close comradely and brotherly feelings and my best wishes for a new year of health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.

The Party, State and People of Vietnam highly appreciate the great and important achievements in all domestic and foreign affairs that Cambodia has achieved in recent times, especially its success in preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic and ensuring the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the context of opening up the country. The Party, State and People of Vietnam believe that under the correct and wise leadership of the Cambodian People's Party and the drastic direction and administration of the Government headed by Comrade Hun Sen, the Cambodian people will continue to gain even greater new achievements in the cause of national construction and development; successfully organize the 2022 Commune/Ward Council elections and successfully assume the role of ASEAN Chair in 2022.
