At the beginning of the working session, on behalf of the leaders of Mon Son commune, comrade Vi Van Nam - Secretary of the commune Party Committee reported on the socio-economic development, national defense and security and party building work in the area. Mon Son is a highland border commune benefiting from the Government's program 135, with 3 ethnic groups living together: Thai, Kinh and Dan Lai. It is a commune with a revolutionary tradition, where the first party cell in the mountainous region of Nghe An was established. However, Mon Son is still a poor commune, with very difficult socio-economic development conditions, especially production infrastructure. The commune Party Committee is leading the people to actively develop production, effectively implementing the national target program on new rural construction, etc.

Next, Comrade Vi Xuan Giap - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Con Cuong district reported on the results of socio-economic development and national defense and security of the district. However, Con Cuong is still a poor district with fragmented production, no economic breakthroughs, not many concentrated goods, and there are still cases of encroachment on public land, illegal exploitation of minerals and forest products, etc.

For Mon Son commune, a pioneer in the revolutionary struggle, the place where the first party cell of Western Nghe An was established, it is now necessary to promote the traditional spirit to take the lead in the cause of building and developing the socio-economy.

For Con Cuong district, it is necessary to promote the advantages of forests, develop eco-tourism associated with protecting and developing forest capital. We cannot be satisfied with the present, but the ethnic people in the area must strive to promote the existing potential to promote socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction. The province, district and commune must pay more attention to promoting the potential strengths of the locality. It is necessary to well implement the resolutions of the local Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress and the policies of the Party and the State. Strive to reduce poverty, and sustainably eliminate poverty.
