General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong receives Chairman of the Russian State Duma
On the morning of December 3, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong cordially received Mr. Sergegy Yevgenyevich Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation (the Russian Lower House), who is on an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
On the morning of December 3, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong cordially received Mr. Sergegy Yevgenyevich Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation (the Russian Lower House), who is on an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Mr. Naryshkin and the Russian State Duma delegation to an official visit to Vietnam; he believed that the visit would mark a new step of development in the relationship between the two countries' legislative bodies.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his good impressions of the recent official visit to the Russian Federation by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the invitation of Russian President V. Putin; affirmed that the visit was a great success, a milestone and a strong driving force to promote and deepen the Vietnam-Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The General Secretary expressed his belief that the relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Russian State Duma will be increasingly consolidated and developed. The two sides will effectively implement the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agreement signed in 2013, as well as closely cooperate, supervise, and promote the implementation of strategic projects and high-level agreements between the two countries in the fields of energy, oil and gas, nuclear, education and training, science and technology, defense, security, and citizens of the two countries living and working in each other's territories, contributing to the practical and effective implementation of the Vietnam-Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Mr. Naryshkin expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam; thanked the warm welcome and good feelings that the Vietnamese leaders and people had for the delegation; and highly appreciated the achievements that Vietnam has made under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Mr. Naryshkin informed the General Secretary of the results of the talks and meetings with the leaders of the National Assembly and the Government of Vietnam; highly appreciated the good relationship between the Russian State Duma and the National Assembly of Vietnam; affirmed that strengthening, consolidating and developing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam is an unchanging priority in the foreign policy of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Federation-Vietnam relationship has been tested over time; Vietnam is a reliable partner and close friend of the Russian Federation. In the coming time, the National Assemblies of the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation, especially closely monitoring the implementation of the agreements reached, continuing to exchange information and legislative experience, contributing to the continuous development and consolidation of the bilateral relationship; wishing the Party, State and people of Vietnam to continue to achieve many achievements in the cause of national development, constantly improving people's lives, and enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and in the international arena./.
