General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Secretary of State Antony Blinken's first official visit to Vietnam as US Secretary of State, saying that the visit was meaningful as it took place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership. The General Secretary welcomed the results of the US Secretary of State's work in Vietnam, highly appreciated the strong and comprehensive development of the bilateral relationship, and affirmed that the important foundations for the development of bilateral relations are respect for each other's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political institutions, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly appreciated the good results of the successful phone call with US President Joe Biden on March 29, 2023, recalling that the two leaders had discussed major orientations in bilateral relations, especially high-level meetings and exchanges to enhance understanding, continue to expand cooperation in the fields of trade - investment, science - technology, education - training and other fields.
